Fleeting encounters on the underground are sometimes fraught with misunderstanding, as this short animation, entitled Metro Crush, demonstrates.

Absolute bastards will get their comeuppance in the end.

This is a story of apocalypse and the false promise of rescue. (Go to the bottom of the 'Sculpture' section to see sky installation used in this animation).

'The Leaf Incidents - a Battle between Man and Eucalyptus Leaf.

In 1895 Emperor Menelik II introduced the eucalyptus tree to Ethiopia. The trees grow quickly and burns easily. But their leaves take years to decompose and the trees degrade the fertility of the soil, using up huge amounts of water as they grow. I used eucalyptus wood for firewood in my bungalow during the cold winter nights when I lived in Addis Ababa 2012-2014. Despite this I took a bit of a dislike to the tree for all the reasons outlined above. I started making a series of drawings, where the eucalyptus leaves are in control, sometimes in murderous ways. This is an animation of that series of drawings.

These days people don't bother to go to the. pub or the cinema. What better then stay at home with a beer and the telly. Plenty of choice - sleazy, frightening, sporty. But
the joy gets sucked out of the evening if you've lost your remote control and have to keep getting up to change the channel. Hate him or love him, he's a restless fellow!
